Microsoft Surface Pro 8: Features

The changes to this new Surface Pro come  with a few hardware bumps, there are no details yet on any new potential features that differentiate the new Surface Pro 8 from the Pro 7.

According to leaks, the future versions of the Type Cover will have a dedicated speaker that improves the overall audio.

Also, taken from a US patent that Microsoft filed, we know there might be a Type Cover in the works that could be powered with solar panels to charge up the Surface pro during use. One or more could be available with the pro 8.

Rumors suggested that the Surface Pro 8 will most likely come with Windows 11.

Currently it’s unknown whether Microsoft will redesign the new Surface Pro 8. However, there are some areas where we can expect and some rumors suggested that what to anticipate, including:

  • New processors: Intel 11th Gen U-series
  • No more 4GB RAM model
  • Similar, but refined hardware design, e.g. rounded display corners
  • Removable SSD (like Surface Pro X and Surface Laptop designs)
  • Larger display — The display may be close to 12.7 to 13inches and thinner bezels  resulting in the same footprint but more screen.
