I have just been from visiting a friend, and he has installed loads of smart kitchen appliances. Right from a smart refrigerator that alerts his phone and automatically adds the missing groceries on his Amazon cart! It seemed creepy for me! What do you think? Is that the future of tech?

Creating Smart Kitchen is good, but still not sure as to let the refrigerator order groceries. We have not yet reached that level of AI. A small glitch could place a huge order and can create potential loss for us. At this stage would suggest to set a mode where the refrigerator can send us a notification and after our approval the order can be placed this would be a much safer approach.

Smart kitchen is great idea. But automatic ordering definitely sounds creepy because that may not be the case in every kitchen. If at all, we go for vacation, then that would be a problem. Moreover we might change vegetables and fruits every week according to our plan.

Smart modular kitchen are dream for every women. We will be happy if it reduces our work. But at the same time, we should be careful when it is connected to technology. Automatic ordering won’t be suitable every time.

Sounds cool and all, but I would feel overwhelmed by how much you can do I believe. I feel like if you have a PC attached to your fridge, then it will be overwhelming for me to understand for a bit. But I will learn it eventually. I just don’t see a point in it. I feel like most people are interested in just standard stuff with some useful abilities. Like, with washer and dryers, I’m cool with it providing more details about how much longer it needs to take and so on. Put to the point where you put a tv screen in it, just feels weird to me.

Just connecting internet to appliances doesn’t make them smart. If you ask me, using energy efficient appliances like induction stoves, pressure cookers, rice cookers and energy efficient oven and micro waves and using Dishwasher properly would truly make a kitchen smart kitchen.

I believe smart people make kitchen smart. I really wouldn’t want total automation to infringe my kitchen. As a member pointed out rightly, any appliance saving energy while being efficient at the same time can be considered smart. I am not sure how smart kitchens in future will be like but I will never go for a fridge ordering my requirements by itself. It seems scary where the technology is leading. I will for certain prefer my good old kitchen with its manual controlled cooking unit, pressure cookers, ovens, a normal fridge, and possibly a dishwasher to help me in my daily chores.

We can choose our kitchen to smart like having basic necessities like dishwasher, oven, air fryer, electric rice cooker, grill if needed, a basic chimney. Normal storage fridge would be enough. Why is it that it should to order immediately if the things are over in the fridge. That won’t be right at every house.

If he has this kitchen, I’d love to have it too because smart setups have always attracted me more than anything.

I do not have much trust on smart devices. Once you are dependant on it, you face disruption if these so called smart devices become faulty for some reason. Basic machines like an electric or gas burner, a dish washer, food processor, normal refrigerator are a must. More than that, I believe its ony a waste of money. Again, it’s just my opinion.

Well if I have this system in my kitchen, it will effectively reduce the pressure of handling groceries.

Never allow your devices to connect with the shopping website, even a small bug would cause freak order and you would have to bear the burden. You can use this technology to give you with the list of things that are required and then you can order it or can visit your local stores to purchase, that would be a better option.

This is a cool idea, It would be like having our very own personal assistant. It would be cooler if someone invented an automatic cooking appliance. Just press the button and the robot would cook our food. Would feel like living in the Jetson’s era.

Wow, this is the first time am hearing about this, good start. Automation is great, but have to be careful not to allow the apps to place order directly.
