Back in July, Elon Musk said that Starlink will be available worldwide in August. Well it’s half-way through September, and still no Starlink here in the States. Has anyone heard any rumors when Starlink will actually be released? And if anybody knows someone who was lucky enough to get on their beta program, how did they do it? Because rural people need good internet too. Especially if we are expected to work and study from home because of this pandemic.

Elon Musk is known for false promises. The problem with starlink, is that as soon as millions of people start to access it, it’s going to slow down the internet for others by a lot. That’s what I heard at least. As well, their plan to release a ton of satellites in the atmosphere is all good and well, but how does Elon Musk and company plan to pay for all of that? It will cost them probably millions and or billions to make these satellites and eventually they will fall to earth and will need to be replaced.

Look up the many ideas Elon Musk has had and hasn’t followed through with yet. There is a lot.

Also, I just checked the Starlink site, and it looks like the signup for users is very limited right now. Almost like they don’t want to have too many people using the service at once.

I did not hear anything about its availability. These may be just rumors.

Look on the actual starlink website. It’s up and active as we speak, and they are currently taking signups. Albeit limited to a small amount of people. The site can be accessed below.

When you go to the site it states “Starlink is available to a limited number of users per coverage area at this time. Orders will be fulfilled on a first-come, first-served basis.”

I really think this starlink stuff is going to inevitably fail, because all Elon Musk seems to do is lie and fail lol.

Yeah I preordered the very first day they began preorders. So I highly doubt the “First come, first serve basis” is true. And I really hope Starlink will not fail. There have been a lot of positive reviews on Youtube about Starlink. And so far, people seem to love it. I would just love to know how those people were able to get their hands on Dishy. Somebody an hour west of me has one. So it can’t be about limited coverage either.

Starlink is a great idea. It aims to provide high speed internet connectivity in remote places. Not so sure how it would function in the cities with lot of signal noises and disturbances, but could be an absolute delight for those living in remote places. Saw an demonstrative video on YouTube, was blown away by the ease of setup and the internet speed it provided, that too in that remote place.

Elon says that Starlink will come out of Beta next month. Wonder if he means what he says this time.

Let’s hope he means it. I’ve been waiting a year.

Well, it is typical of Elon Musk to not be true about these kind of dates, So, no wonder that it is late.

If it is announced already then it will be out soon.

Am not too excited for Starlink as i stay in the city and have good internet connection here. May be people in the remote places would appreciate this effort. But is launching all these satellites worth it.
