When it comes to ovens/stoves, do you tend to go with gas or electric? Lately I’ve considered electric because of how fast it is, but the electric aspect must cost a lot more in electricity compared to a gas oven. Which would you suggest? Gas or electric?

Gas stove will score over electric stoves as far as operating costs and efficiency is concerned, though the same can’t be said about electric oven. With rapid reduction of natural resources globally, there is going to be rise in gas prices which will probably make it equal to the operating cost of electric stove. But convention types do distribute heat evenly and heat up more faster thereby reducing cooking time. Gas flames work better with different shapes and sizes of cookware, especially if bottom is not flat. As far as ease of cleaning is concerned, electric cooktops and ovens will be easier to clean than their gas counterparts. So both have their pros and cons.

My friend runs a Bakery, he has both gas oven and electric oven. He feels that heat produced in the electric oven, is very uniform than in gas oven. In gas oven, few spaces have hot spots and the baked items sometimes become over burnt. But, incase of electric oven this never happens. Electric ovens provide uniform heat distribution, it can be pre-set and temperature controlled by the Micro-controllers available at the oven’s setting. For professional uses, my view is electric ovens would be a better option.

I believe Gas Ovens would be a good choice. Because electric ovens use very high electric current which would Overload the entire home electric circuit and prolonged usage might damage the electric supply system in the house. And many of the Ovens use 3 Phase current supply, if one of the supply is weak or not available then the oven might not function. But Gas Oven is very reliable. It heats up quickly compared to electric and is easy to handle compared to electric ovens.

I prefer gas ovens because they’re cheaper to run than electric. Electric is great and all, but if you live in an area with high electricity costs, you probably want to use less and less electric devices.

Actually I use both at home, there are advantages and disadvantages for both. How we use matters. I do major cooking in stove and reheating stuff, tea & coffee in electric.

Gas cooking range is also as effective as electric. It reduces the cost and gas appliances are relatively cheaper than electric appliances.

At home normally we use gas stove for almost all cooking. We do have electric stove as a standby, just in case of emergency. Both have its advantages and disadvantages. Cost wise, it doesn’t make much difference though.

I know there is a lot of fuss about the electric cooking range but trust me on this that gas range works more effectively than electric cooking range.

Gas ovens works best for me, i usually use my induction stove and microwave, so only my oven runs on gas. I feel gas ovens provide deep cooking compared to electric ovens.

Electric ovens are good choice, it might be little costly compared to gas oven. But, is worth it. It has great operational efficiency and can get your money back within few months of usage.
