Life in Desert

If you were staying in a desert island for a year, what stuff would you bring with you to stay entertained?

To stay entertained? Definately my tv and some movies or video games.

I have no idea about the desert but if I have to spend a year on an island I will take some basic tools with me and will stay away from technology happily by building wooden huts etc.

Like the survivor show in forest, I would like to get along with the habitation of dessert.

I would like to take minimal essential items like water, something to build like tent and so on.

Surviving on a desert for a year is possible only if you get your regular supplies of food and other essential daily requirements. You will probably require a satellite phone to communicate as I doubt if your ordinary phones will work. You should have proper gear and protection to overcome extreme weather conditions. Forget about TV and other electrical gimmicks. Provided you have some sort of portable solar cells, I wonder if you will be able to have electricity even for essential use. If you have regular access to food and water, you can think about surviving in a desert at least for a while. Though personally, I dread at the thought of it.
