Guys, what do you thing of sound bars? If you have tried it out, what is the quality of sound compared to the normal home theater systems?

I’d say yes, mainly because most TVs these days have poor placement in terms of speakers, so you’re often getting mediocre sound. So soundbars are usually an alternative option to gain more sound out of your tv.

But I’d recommend going even bigger. Go get a 3D surround sound setup or something that puts the sound all around you instead of from one direction. Soundbars are great, but if you want a more immersive experience, having a surround sound system setup would be way better.

I second this. Sound bars are great, but they are limited in the quality of audio it puts out. As well, sound bars only push audio out in one section. Now, if you got a sound bar system with multiple speakers, that would be better.

Sound Bar is definitely worth it. Because in the latest TV even if you buy 50+ inches you would get only 20W speaker with the TV, which provides low sound to the huge video output. Sound bars start around 80w thereby providing a decent bass, and clear sound even in low and high volumes. It’s very handy and easy to install you could place it in your TV stand or in the table top.

Sound bars are worth to spend money on. It has better speakers for a longer range and a more impressive audio reproduction. Sound bars are actually compact hubs for your home theater system.

If you don’t have home theatre set in your home. You could choose sound bars. They provide good quality sound and doesn’t overload the speakers in the tv. Most of the speakers in TV have very low output. So having a sound bar would be a good choice.

I highly prefer sound bars. You can’t rely on speakers from these flat screen tv’s. They are just too thin to support a good bass.

Yup, tvs are notorious for having cheap and mediocre speakers built in. A soundbar gives the tv some new life, but like a few others have said, a surround sound system is way better and immersive. That’s what I want to do with my setup eventually.

These are good because most of TV brands, while focusing on other features, are ignoring sound and speakers. So these sound bars are really effective if you are planning family movie night.

Yes it would be great if you spend on sound bars. You can really feel the difference when you connect your tv with sound bars. The sound quality is great and has efficient output.

If you want good music output, but don’t to go for Home Theater, then soundbar would be a good choice. TV speakers are just for watching regular shows and news, if you want to enjoy music and cinema sound bar would be good choice.

There definitely is a vast improvement in your viewing and listening pleasure by using a good rated surround soundbar, which incidentally could cost you a lot. A Home theater too does a good job at the sacrifice of space. But yes as many here pointed out, the sound quality from the TV speakers are nothing to talk about. With high definition picture quality, it is best to have a dedicated sound system connected to watch a movie or listen to your favourite music.

I love to use sound bars as I do not find TV speaker reliable for my desirable sound quality.
