As reported in the Daily News, this was stated by DMI tutorial assistant Captain Haruna Ally. According to Ally, the goal is to train own experts who can harvest gas instead of replying on foreign oil and gas experts.

In addition to this, taking a note of the high costs of studies in abroad, DMI has reduced the cost for parents and thus creates a platform that oil and gas engineering degree can be obtained in the country, the source added.

DMI’s mechatronics engineering course aims to provide more electronics professionals for the shipping industry. Ally stated that the course specifically focuses on science given the growing use of technology in the sector. This course will help the oil and gas experts to design modern software, which will help to save ships during emergencies.

Another course is Nonarchectures and professional engineers. This is set to help students learn shipbuilding design including the oil exploration ships.
