Right now I have a 65 inch 4K TV and I worry that one day I will have to yet again, upgrade to a higher res tv. I hear next is either 6k or 8k and then I think it goes up to 12K in resolution? I might be wrong on that.

But wouldn’t TVs have to get extremely massive to support anything in those sizes?

4K is the best resolution in the market now. It would take around 2 years for 6k to hit the markets. I would advise you to wait till then. Now only movies and streaming services are catching up to 4k, for 6k and other resolution it would take longer.

Upgrading will take at least 4 to 5 years I feel. 4K TV is the best in the market. Most of them are opting for 4K TV now which is good and there is a price drop also.

until the 12k gets in your TV will already be depreciated as per financial aspects 😛

With the present net speeds 4K itself is putting immense pressure in streaming websites and its servers. Going beyond that would overload the system. For TV to go to next gen, the data and communication has to catch up to it. Otherwise, there is no use in upgrading the Tv to play only few DVDS. Think TV would evolve to Holography rather than 12K.

Eventually yeah. We will see 8K TVs, and monitors coming out. It won’t be for years to come, but it will happen.

And honestly, I don’t think it’s really needed, because I feel like 4K is more than enough quality. But who knows, maybe 8K is even that more impressive when it comes to movies and gaming.

I feel it’s not needed, but I can see more and more companies releasing 6K, then 8K down the road. I think we are already getting 6K tvs in stores, and soon enough 8K will follow. It’s a given at this point.

There is no doubt that resolution will reach 12K sooner or later. But there is a point that 4K is top rated in market right now and does not cause trouble while streaming. So sticking to 4K right now, is favorable.

We don’t know when are they going to be available in market. As of now, 4K is far enough and it’s wonderful to watch in 4K TV.

8k is just right around the corner if you ask me. They would launch it in couple of years. Beyond that would take time, as they have to prepare them for manufacturing and to bring the cost of 4k tv down and to place 8k tv in a reasonable price. Right now 8K prototypes would be in testing.

Well I have experienced 4K only and I wonder that if 8K is possible then it will be amazing.
