What are some alternatives to Discord? I heard of Matrix, another chat like service with servers that people can join to chat in. Are there any other alternatives to Discord worth trying out? Or is Discord the best out of them all?

Discord is good, but I prefer Telegram. Because its easy for me to use it, while am gaming and while am away from my PC, can stay connected in my mobile. It’s also free to use.

Telegram is limited in what you can do compared to Discord. But I get what you mean, it can be pretty useful. It’s also a lot more secure than some other chat clients out there.

nTask is a good app for chatting and discussing while gaming, but the one big disadvantage in free subscription is the chat is limited to 5 persons. If you have a team lesser than 5, it won’t be an issue.

I would say Telegram. Recently when WhatsApp crashed for few hours, it was telegram which helped a lot of people. Even the users of telegram has also been increased.

Mumble seems to be good for gamers. It allows users to talk to each other via same server.
